Men's Performance Panel
Testosterone is the headline; this is the story behind it. Total and free testosterone plus the hormones, thyroid, blood sugar and vitamin D that drive energy, recovery, mood and body composition — 13 biomarkers in one fasted blood draw, including your insulin-resistance score.
One-time payment of A$249. GST included. No subscription.
What this panel measures
- Testosterone — Total testosterone, free testosterone, SHBG and free androgen index — the headline number and the two that explain it.
- Cortisol — Your stress hormone. Chronically high cortisol works against testosterone, sleep and recovery.
- Fasting insulin, fasting glucose and HbA1c — Early insulin resistance is one of the most common, and most fixable, reasons testosterone drifts down. Insulin and glucose together give your insulin-resistance score (HOMA-IR); HbA1c gives the three-month blood sugar picture.
- Thyroid — TSH, Free T4 and Free T3 tested upfront — the full thyroid picture that sets metabolic rate and recovery capacity.
- Vitamin D — Supports strength, immunity and hormone production. Low in most Australians through winter.
- Oestradiol — Men make it from testosterone. Too little or too much shows up as mood, libido, joint and body-fat changes.
Who this panel is for
Have you noticed any of these:
- energy crashing by mid-afternoon no matter how much you sleep
- training that has stopped paying off — less muscle, more around the middle
- a sex drive that has quietly dropped off
- recovery from a hard session or a late night taking days longer than it used to
- a testosterone result that was 'normal' when you still don't feel right
- weighing up a men's health clinic and wanting your own numbers first
How it works
- Order online — no GP referral needed.
- Visit any of 2,000+ accredited collection centres across Australia.
- Results delivered same day to your personal dashboard with clear explanations.
Sample and turnaround
Single blood draw at any Sonic-network collection centre. Fasting is REQUIRED: no food for 8–12 hours before your draw (water is fine) because fasting insulin and glucose are only meaningful on an empty stomach. A morning visit makes the fast easy and gives the most accurate testosterone and cortisol readings. Results back same day.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to fast before this test?
Yes. Fasting insulin and glucose are only meaningful on an empty stomach, so fast for 8–12 hours before your blood draw. Water is fine. A morning visit makes the fast easy and also gives the most accurate testosterone and cortisol readings.
How is this different from the Testosterone test?
The Testosterone test gives you total testosterone, free testosterone and SHBG. This panel includes all three, then adds what pushes testosterone around — cortisol, insulin, blood sugar, thyroid and vitamin D — plus oestradiol, which is what testosterone turns into.
How is this different from the Men's Hormone Check?
Men's Hormone Check goes deeper on the hormone axis itself (DHEA-S, LH and FSH). This panel goes wider on the body: thyroid, blood sugar, insulin and vitamin D. If you want to know why your testosterone is where it is, this is the one.
Do you prescribe treatment?
No. Vital Trend Health provides your results with a clear, plain-English explanation and a doctor review. We do not prescribe or treat — anything outside range is a conversation for your GP, who can look at the full picture.
